If you are looking for cheap blackjack on the strip the Sahara has brought back its $1 blackjack tables which is a nice bargain. A few drawbacks you cannot touch the cards dealt and the payoff for a blackjack is only even money but hey for a buck its a bargain.

Right now the new location of the Hard Rock Cafe on the strip is under construction next to the MGM on the Strip. When i checked earlier in the week it seems they have a long way to go before it opens; But if you need your Hard Rock Cafe fix the official shop next door is now open selling Hard Rock Cafe merchandise even though the signage for the store wasn't up yet when i checked.
The Monte Carlo is okay but usually its not high on my places to visit when in Las Vegas, but it did have one thing that made it worth a visit; The one thing is the great Brew Pub which MGM Mirage has now announced they are closing on July 12th. The brew pub had good food, great beers and good acts performing so its a shame to see it close. If you are looking for another good brewpub you should head downtown to the Main Street Station or visit the one at the Monte Carlo before July 12th.
McCarren International Airport has released traffic figures for May and, not really a surprise but the numbers are down. In May 3.5 million people used the airport which is down 11.5 percent from May 2008. The lower traffic is to be expected with the present economy but with airlines cutting flights and less people in general flying it may be a while before it picks up.
Recently they removed a panel on the Circus Circus and people got excited that maybe the sign was leaving but they were just working on it. Circus Circus is fine big clown head is creepy sorry just my opinion; Okay as im offending clowns let me now offend parents and ask why bring you kids to Las Vegas? Is it because once they are adults you want them to learn how to gamble, drink or maybe one day hand out adult cards to vistors. Okay i can live with the kids i guess but tonight i saw 3 strollers with kids in at 1am on the strip okay rant over let the comments begin.
There have been numerous news reports about how quiet it is in Las Vegas hotels and, casinos at the moment. The last few days i have been in Las Vegas in triple digit temperatures and, its been pretty busy even with the extreme heat. This may be just luck when im here but its a hopeful sign. One thing i have noticed is the price of flights to Las Vegas has gone up a lot as the airlines have cut flights, several more plan to cut flights in September so it will be interesting to see what happens then
